There was a slight delay this morning (Greg oversleeping) but nonetheless a smashing start to Day 2 – literally smashing. The good people at the GITEX security entrance managed to smash the glass bowl we had spent hours debating over the previous day – epic fail! The sweets will have to wait until tomorrow.
We managed to put the disappointment behind us and spent some time perfecting our stand and working our way through the coffee supplied by Trade Fair, they’re holding the biscuits back until later.
Highlight of the day was the legendary Sheikh Mohammed and his 100 strong entourage breezing past our stand during the GITEX opening ceremony. Quite a sight but dissapointed that he didn't take a MintTwist brochure
It was also lovely to catch up with Sunita from the British Embassy who has helped us over the years with UKTI Omis reports and various UK Delegations in the region. She will be popping back tomorrow for more coffee.
Some of the team spent the later part of the morning perfecting the MintTwist survey to enable us to canvase the exibitors and attendes about their websites and social website habits whilst the others worked the floor and manned the stand.
We met with a very good mix of people and had some great conversations during the afternoon. We even had a couple of people seek us out and head directly to our stand to have conversations about mobile sites and games. Let's hope the remaining days prove as interesting and insightful.
We finished the day as we started - by smashing a glass vase. This time in a respectable restaurant. Well done Saad, your wife will be very proud.
